This study conducts an empirical analysis of online fraud victimization risk in Taiwan, aiming to explore its types, characteristics, and influencing factors. A nationwide online survey was conducted, yielding 1,146 valid responses, which were divided into 564 participants with victimization experience and 582 participants without such experience for comparative analysis. The main analytical variables encompassed demographic characteristics (gender, age, income, education, occupation, residence), psychological traits (deviant values, internet dependency, low self-control), and online risk exposure (risk contact, defensive monitoring, high-incentive risk-taking propensity) to examine their impact on fraud victimization risk. The results revealed that males, individuals under 40 years of age, those with low-to-moderate income, and those with lower educational attainment exhibited higher victimization risks, while urban-rural differences showed no significant association.Regarding psychological traits and online risk exposure, all variables except defensive monitoring were significantly higher in the victimized group compared to the non-victimized group, indicating that psychological predispositions and risk-taking behaviors play crucial roles in fraud vulnerability. Logistic regression analysis further identified impulsivity, psychological dependency, online incentive attraction, and recreational motivation as primary predictive factors. Based on the comprehensive analysis results, this study recommends strengthening early identification mechanisms for high-risk psychological traits and risk-taking behaviors and promoting fraud prevention education strategies with early warning functions to enhance the precision and intervention effectiveness of prevention policies.
